And finally........

Golf Results
Weekend - unseasonal wet weather meant an abandoned medal round.
Tuesday saw round 2 of the summer eclectic - results at the Autumn Meeting.

Palmer Cup - unfortunately seasonal August weather caused a postponement of the ladies match to retain the Cup against the senior men. We had a fun morning on the Sky Trak followed by lunch and rescheduled for 27th September. Two places are available if anyone wishes to play.

Thursday - yes you've guessed it, even though the sun was shining and the sky was clear all bunkers were GUR (to help preserve them) so the monthly medal was abandoned. We enjoyed a fun round.

The forecast for the coming weeks is looking good so get out and enjoy your golf.

Playing Away From Home

Playing Away From Home

If you play in a non- qualifying competition at another club it is YOUR responsibility to inform the Handicap Secretary of your scores and result.

England Golf wants to make sure that Handicap Committees have all necessary 'supporting evidence' for handicap reviews. Any non-qualifying AWAY scores will not directly affect your handicap, but may be used as part of the handicap review.

Your individual scores or team results must be returned in all singles, Am-Am & 4BBB with the exception of Texas Scrambles, Foursomes, Greensomes, Open's and casual social rounds.

Please use the form produced by England Golf, which is on the general notice board. The following information is required:

  1. Your name & partners name (if team/pairs)
  2. Date & venue/course
  3. Format of competition
  4. SSS of course
  5. Score returned
  6. Placement if in top 5

Players must make every effort to maintain a handicap that reflects their current playing ability. If a player does not return away scores a loss or suspension of handicap may result under Clause 24.1 CONGU rules.

Away Day Winners

Away Day
A very windy and occasionally wet Collingtree Park played host to the 2017 Kelland Pairs Away day. Thirty four ladies started out with hearty bacon butties and pastries before taking on the challenging course.

Scoring proved difficult in the gale force winds. Runners up (on countback) with 32 points were Lauren Pitcher & Kathy Dale. Winning with 33 points were Lesley Bonser & Di Rogers. Congratulations to all for completing the course and thank you to Collingtree Park for being the perfect hosts.

In other news sign up for the Macknight Pairs is on the PSI, rules are on the board.

Good luck to the ladies playing on Wednesday to defend the Palmer Cup against the senior men.

Golf Results
Weekend - Round 4 of the eclectic, still all to play for.

Away Day
Last weeks deliberate mistake was well spotted by many. Our away day is in fact up the M1 at Collingtree Park. There is an excellent app that can be downloaded with course info and pro tips. This may be used as a stroke saver on the course.

Junior Charity Day
Dan Jordan is hosting his charity day on Saturday 12th August, in aid of The Chelsea Children's Hospital Charity. Please see the sign up sheet if you wish to enter.

Golf results
Weekend - Seven ladies joined the men to play in the Denis Flynn Memorial last Sunday, top position with 32 points was Julie Price.

Tuesday - Final round of the stableford league, results on the website.

Thursday - A gift, a wish & a joker saw some high scores returned. Playing for Hellidon Lakes prizes the winner on countback was Mandy Unger. Longest drive went to Marica Kelland and nearest the pin Sarah Faircliff. Many thanks to Lin Goodey and Katy Cook for organising our excellent extended away weekend.

Course maintenance starts this week. There will be no golf on Thursday as we are holding our annual Kelland Pairs away day. Please be patient with the ground staff who will be working to improve our course, so greens may be affected.

Good luck to all playing at Collingtree Park.
