Winter Eclectic
Results were revealed this week of the fiercely contested 12 hole winter eclectic. We were fortunate to be able to play all 7 scheduled rounds. 49 ladies took part playing over 230 rounds. Well done to all who competed.

Division 1 winner was Sarah Faircliff on countback from Sally Weekes. Both scoring a magnificent 48.

Division 2 winner, Nicola Adkins by one shot from Helen Leigh, scoring 52. Great winter golf aided by Chesfield Downs wonderful greens.

The presentation took place after our first social light lunch of the year in a sun filled conservatory.

Megan has a trial shift in F&B

Daily Mail Foursomes
Angela Hamilton and Pat Ward enjoyed the weather and the company on Monday at Mount Pleasant but unfortunately lost their match 3&2.

Summer knockouts
Sign up sheets are on the board. Closing date Tuesday 21st. A draw will take place on 23rd March after golf in the conservatory.

GOLF RESULTS
Weekend
Seven ladies played in the individual stableford, forming part of the Ken Bird Winter League. Pat Ward being the highest scoring lady with 37 points. This puts Pat 2 points ahead of Linda Brown in the Order of Merit. Four rounds to go.

Tuesday
A gift, a wish, a joker over 18 holes - Winner on countback Katy Cook from Margaret Gentle both scoring 45 points, so they must have chosen wisely.

Thursday
With storm Doris paying us a visit 30 hardy ladies wrapped up and ventured out on to the par 3 Lannocks Links. Although the sun was shining the Megan Bonner Par 3 Championship was reduced to 9 holes - that was enough.

Hats blew, bags blew and cobwebs were well and truly blown away. Who won???? The winner will be announced at the Spring Meeting on 11th May.

Thursday sees a full field competing for the first trophy of the season The Price Vase. Good luck ladies.

And finally... Repairing Pitchmarks
Click here to read a handy guide on how to properly repair pitchmarks. As it says in the article it's "worth reading as a poorly repaired pitchmark takes twice as long to heal!".

GOLF RESULTS
Weekend

No golf as the course was closed. But how fantastic the conditions of the greens this week. Thanks to Andy and his team.

Tuesday
5 clubs and a putter - is that all you need? Appears so as Sue Oliva and Barbara Baldwin both came home with 18 points. Sue winning on countback. Well done.

Thursday
Perhaps the closest finish for a long time. How fortunate we were to play all 7 rounds, this enabling some cracking scores. Result will be announced at the presentation on Thursday 23rd after Megan Bonner Par 3 Competition.

In a change to the advertised, we will be having soup & baguette followed by cake. Drinks to be purchased separately.

Happy Golfing

I am delighted to inform you that Macron Hertfordshire is sponsoring Chesfield Downs Ladies Scratch team. For the first outing in May the team will be sporting matching boot bags to compliment team colours. Macron, based in Letchworth, provide our trophies throughout the year. Thank you to Mick Ginn.

You will notice when at the Club this week that there are different chairs and sofas. This is a temporary measure whilst the originals are being fully refurbished by an interior designer. This will take approx 2 weeks so please be understanding of the situation.

Sign up is now open for the first qualifier of the season, The Price Vase, on Thursday 1st March. Also, on the board, sign up for Megan Bonner Par 3 Championships.

GOLF RESULTS
Weekend
Three ladies competed in the 4BBB this weekend, Linda Brown being top placed above Nikki Brookes and Megan Bonner.

Tuesday
In probably the muddiest conditions for some time on the course 25 ladies competed in the first team game of the year, a Stableford Alliance. Congratulations to the victors, Di Chapman, Marion Dix, Lorraine Palmer and Pam Blake.

Thursday
The penultimate round and all change again. Sally Weekes has jumped into top spot in Div 1 by one shot and Nicola Adkins has the lead in Div 2, again only one shot in it. Forecast looks reasonable for the last round on 16th so get out there.

And finally..... never put off until tomorrow what you can do today. Because if you enjoyed it you can do it again tomorrow.

Happy golfing
