Sunday 8th May was an amazingly successful day for our Bridge Walkers. They have raised over £1000. Just brilliant!

“We had the perfect day for walking the bridges of London. I've seen things I've never seen before because I have not been sightseeing in London since I was a teenager!! We arrived at Battersea just before 10.30 then set off, Megan with map in hand - we followed! The weather was great, the company brilliant and we all really enjoyed the walk. We had three experienced London Bridge walkers with us who seemed to know where they were going!! We stopped at the London Eye for coffee and sandwich and sat in the sun for half an hour. We passed so many iconic buildings - Houses of Parliament, the Tower of London, the London Eye & The Shard to name but a few. What a great way to see so much!! “ -  Rogie Taylor

Our Scratch Team are enjoying an unbeaten run with yet another win. This time we played at home against Aldwickbury Park. Congratulations to Sarah and her team – Marica, Liz, Emma Wood - who made her debut and earned her Scratch Cap and to Pat Ward, who scored 3 birdies in her winning match. Great result!

Scratch Team v Aldwickbury Park (Home)

The 2nd Scratch Match was played at home on Sunday 8th May where we were hosts to Aldwickbury Park. Starting off with bacon butties and in complete contrast to the last match the forecast was for wall to wall sunshine and temps up into the high 70s. Proper Scratch golf weather!!

This time our line up consisted of Pat Ward, Marica Kelland, Liz Cooke, Sarah Faircliff and on debut Emma Wood. Congratulations to Emma on receiving her team cap and winning her match against a lower handicapper!

All the team contributed greatly to a 3-2 victory with wins for Pat , who scored 3 birdies, yes, 3 birdies in a row and completely overran her opponent!!! Liz was also a worthy winner!

Thanks go to all the team for another great performance. The next Scratch match is at home to Harpenden on Friday 10th June.

I couldn’t believe the weather! Strong winds, sleet and then hailstones covered the course. Especially as I was “suffering” in 23 degree heat in sunny Gran Canaria. Bring on the summer... SOON ! I cannot believe you played at all, but you are a hardy bunch. Well done to anyone who played.
