Club Championship 2013 Rd 1

There were some excellent scores recorded today in the first round of the Club Championship. Pauline Harrison came in with 83, the lowest gross score of the day. Margaret Gentle submitted a fantastic nett score of 59, with Rogie Taylor on nett 65 and Angela Hamilton on nett 66. Still lots to play for in round 2 next Thursday plus, of course, a delicious cream tea and a free gift for all participants. Congratulations Pauline & Margaret!

It was a fun day today raising money for CLIC Sargent at our Charity Invitation Day.  The halfway house with Pimms and delicious home baked cakes and savouries kept everyone going even when it started to rain. The hamper raffle, bottle tombola, spot the ball and the golden raffle raised over £550.  The total raised for the day was approx £2500.  A big thank you to everyone who sponsored a hole, donated a prize or baked a cake to help us reach such a great sum.  The day went very smoothly thanks to the army of volunteers who gave their time to help make the day a success.

Congratulations to Annette Axelsson who won the Mercedes Benz Challenge today with an excellent 41 points!  This is the second year in a row for Annette who won the event last year with exactly the same number of points!  Well done too to Kathy Dale who was runner up today with 40 points and Mandy Unger who came in 3rd with 39 points.  Annette will be off to Hanbury Manor later in the year to play in a mixed County final.
